Order on Demand (OOD)

While searching the Library Catalog, you may have come across catalog records for books we don't have - you see "Collection: Order On Demand," with an icon you click on to rush order the book for the library. Feel free to order the book when you find something you feel the library should own. The three publishers we currently use in this program are Oxford University Press, Palgrave Macmillan, and John Wiley; this program applies to recently published books only.

To actively search for books that are part of OOD, .....
Library Catalog -> Guided Keyword Search

Top search box: ood
and
Middle search box: oxford (to limit to just Oxford UP bks) macmillan (to limit to just Macmillan bks). choose "Publication facts" in the Search in: pull-down menu.
and
Bottom search box: your search term/s

For example, to search for Oxford UP OOD books that have "american fiction" as a subject heading.....

You don't have to use the entire publisher's name-oxford, macmillan or wiley will do; you don't have to restrict the search term/s to the subject headings field, but it will refine your search. Since new books are published all the time, these lists do change; I regularly troll these lists and order books I think the library should own, but you may also want to search these OOD lists periodically.

As always please let me know if you have any questions about this program or searching for these books.
