MLA International Bibliography - Types of Content

MLA International Bibliography indexes the following document types: books, book chapters, journal articles, and websites. If you weren't already aware, you may be interested to know that the contents are not always scholarly/academic in nature. I recently learned from a staff member at MLA that:
"...MLAIB  indexes all material that we feel are of interest to scholars even if they are written in non-peer reviewed material or are geared for a more general audience. Almost any work is considered as long as it falls within our scope...."

To limit your search to scholarly/academic articles, tick the box next to Peer-Reviewed on the search screen.

Spotlight on the Collection (new!) - TLS Historical Archive 1902-2008

Back in October I alerted you to a database trial for  TLS Historical Archive 1902-2008. The library has just purchased access to this resource which enables users to full-text search every page of every issue of the TLS from 1902 to 5 years ago.

As you know, the Times Literary Supplement (TLS) is a British literary weekly which offers comprehensive coverage of important publications in every subject  – but also theatre, opera, exhibitions and film. In this database you will find, amongst other things, a letter to the editor from Winston Churchill, book reviews written by Virginia Woolf, a 1902 review of  Henry James's The Wings of the Dove, a poem by Sylvia Plath, and a film review of Roger Vadim's Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
